Get Involved

Become an Intern

We have three internship terms throughout the year (Fall, Spring, and Summer) and room for one intern during each term. Read all about it on the team page. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Looking for other ways to get involved with the Safe Zone Project?

We’d love to have you! Below are a number of other ways that you can help us improve, grow, and continue to evolve the project.

Submit an Activity

Have an activity that you use to explain some aspect of gender or sexuality that you’d like to share? Send it our way and we can post it on the site and feature you as a contributing author! All activities related to LGBTQ+ identity/experience and allyship are welcome! Whether it be a new take on how to explain the coming out process, a deep dive into intersections of identity, or a reflection on internalized homophobia, if you love it we’d love to help you share it with the world.

Email the activity in any format to yo [at] the safe zone project [dawt] com!

Share Your Curriculum Modifications

With over 20,000 downloads of the curriculum, we know there are folks out there tweaking, hacking, and modifying our curriculum to their needs, and we love that. If you have made changes to the SZP curriculum whether it be within the activities, schedule, or by adding something new of your own, we’d love to know! Share your improvements with us and we’ll share it on the site so others can learn from your learning and keep evolving and improving the materials!

Email your tweaks, hacks, and modifications to yo [at] the safe zone project [dawt] com!

Join the Team

If you’re interested in getting involved, whether it be by writing activities or curriculum or improving the site in ways we haven’t even thought of yet, let us know! You know what to do.

Email yo [at] the safe zone project [dawt] com and let us know how you want to get involved!
